Dear all-

I agree with what Barry says in his email. I would simply like to add the following excerpt from my new blog http://1tinsoldier.blogspot.com/2008/07/one-tin-soldier-rides-away.html
which is as follows:
**Please watch the videos in the sidebar about the police raid on kiddie village at the Wyoming 2008 Rainbow Gathering. This will help you understand why I started this blog and the catalyst behind Cephas' and my mission to speak out for freedom, liberty and justice across America. Join us on our journey to Washington, D.C. where we intend to meet with as many Congressional Representatives as possible. It is our goal, our hope, our mission, to see legislation that will end military style training ops on American people, or any people for that matter, under humanitarian laws. Please help us fulfill this mission and actualize the vision of a safer, more just and more peaceful America.

We are not finished talking,or trying to achieve dialogue for peaceful co-operation between we, the people and the government servants who serve we, the people. We are all in this together. We can not and will not surrender to violence. Peace is the only way to survive on this planet.

Remember, when the valley people conquered the folks on the mountain, killed every one of them, and the stone on the mountain covering the buried treasure was turned: "Peace on earth was all it said".

Is the annihilation of a free people and essentially our/your/my country, worth it?

This blog is dedicated to peacemakers around the world. Thank you for your love and the sacrifices that you make to help create a better world. Peace be with you and may Christ come quickly.

Especially keep this message in mind:

Do It For the Children

Peace is imperative if mankind is to survive. The children on this planet are our future. Adults must learn to get along and love one another if the children are to survive. Every day, children are subjected to neglect, abuse, loss of hope, war, famine, disasters, illness and death. Violence is out of control. It has to stop. It is up to us, each one of us, to be the peace we want to see in the world. It is up to each one of us to give hope to the children.

Please open dialogue once again and let us each find a better way to do this together.

I have walking this path even longer than this blog has been in existence, but getting that 36 C.F.R. 261.10 k citation in Michigan was a giant turning point in my life. Finding a peaceful resolution to the permit process and the violence it invokes upon a peaceful free assembly of we, the people has been my driving force ever since. Please walk with me a mile or two.

All we are saying, is give peace a chance.
All we are saying,  is give peace a chance.

Howdy,
IC Smithson and Chief Twiss...  PLEASE READ THIS ARTICLE re: Peace at Convention...

For the Annual Gathering, IF COMMUNICATIONS had been used and civil rights respected, by FS LEOs, etc, WOULD THERE HAVE BEEN ANY INCIDENTS THIS YEAR?

 My answer is NO....
Please read and PLEASE take up this POSITIVE Approach...

Rather than... Armed Patrols riding through on ATVs, STALKING the Wild Hippie - in Gathering, out-of-control officers SHOOTING People.... does any of this make common sense?

FS LEOs, etc....  Training for the Conventions? OR for Civil Disorder? Then, where is the donation to the Magic Hat, per individual, for use of Gatherers (without their permission) to train on? And to each individual also...  (use of people without their permission in violation of their civil rights must be illegal?)

Way-Ugly "show of use of near-deadly force" on youtube, appearing continually... wasn't there someway to avoid this?... to take a different route?... NOT to create an "incident" ?

please consider another way to go...

Police call communication key to convention peace

By GREGG AAMOT Associated Press Writer

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Borrowing from a European model, Minneapolis and St. Paul police hope to quell any disruptions at this summer's Republican National Convention by exchanging cell phone numbers and offering other olive branches to demonstrators.

About 10 police officers - all schooled in hostage negotiation techniques - met with U.S. Justice Department officials and a handful of community peace workers Wednesday at a police academy in north Minneapolis to review the strategies.

The officers, dubbed "dialogue officers" or "free speech liaison officers," have been asked to open communication lines with activist leaders at the convention, which will be held Sept. 1-4 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

The hope, in part, is that the officers will be able to stay on top of any escalating violence or other problems and alert other officers or peaceful demonstrators.

"The whole goal is to try and reach out to groups that are going to protest. We recognize their free speech rights, but the concern on our end is that we don't want anybody to get hurt or have any property damage," said Bill Blake, a Minneapolis officer taking part in the initiative.

Blake said officers have been contacting groups they believe are planning to demonstrate. He said he went to a meeting of the Welfare Rights Committee, explained the initiative and handed out his card but was rebuffed.

"There's a lot of anger out there," he said.

Indeed, activists said they were skeptical of the approach.

Meredith Aby, who plans to march with the Coalition to March on the RNC and Stop the War, said the group was contacted by police but refused to participate. The group's planned march on the first day of the convention is expected to attract 30,000 to 50,000 protesters.

"We're interested in doing our own marshaling and peacekeeping. We're not interested in exchanging our phone numbers or doing joint training with police," she said.

Open-dialogue methods have been used - successfully, police claim - at events in Europe, including an April 2007 NATO meeting in Oslo, Norway, and a June 2007 G-8 summit in Rostock, Germany.

Minneapolis and St. Paul police said their officers have discussed the methods with police in Britain, Canada, Estonia, the Netherlands, Germany and Norway, according to a news release from St. Paul police.

Police tactics and the use of surveillance on protesters were criticized at the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City. More than 1,800 people were arrested at the four-day convention at Madison Square Garden, where President Bush accepted his party's nomination for a second term in office.
