A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief

This song brings chills to my spine, warmth to my heart, and a blessing to my soul. The version presented here in its country folk song flare is so touching that I just wanted to share a preview of the Savior Jesus the Christ as I see Him.

Originally a song popular in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, this folk rendition of the ballad of Christ is especially passionate sung by this humble duo. For those who do not know the history of the song, refer to the History of the LDS church and you will learn that this song was a favorite to the Prophet Joseph Smith in the 1800's.  It is referenced in the journals of John Taylor, Apostle to Joseph at the time of his death and martyrdom in 1844 and successor as prophet and President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As John Taylor's journal records the story, he sang this song to Joseph just hours before his murder by a mob who raided the jail killing Joseph and two others. John Taylor was shot four times but survived the attack and lived to testify.
